Your Impact:

The primary goal of the technical writer is to convey written information to team members in a way that they can understand and apply the information, even if they have no prior knowledge of the subject. The technical writer will be responsible for preparing instruction manuals, how-to guides, and other supporting documents, including SOP’s and training materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension
  • Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions
  • Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation
  • Develop and maintain a detailed database of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods of improvement
  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write standard operating procedure (SOP) manuals, technical specifications, process documentation, trainings and presentations.
  • Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage 
  • Create scripts for video tutorials and for customer service team
  • Manage and maintain Knowledge Database (GetGuru)
  • Write newsletters, blogs, and other content for company externally facing website
  • Maintain content on company intranet website
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Two+ years’ experience as an effective technical writer
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience working in PDF editor, PowerPoint/Canva, and Google Suite
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or relevant field
  • Advanced level skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • A writing portfolio is a plus.
  • Experience with Knowledge Databases (ex. GetGuru) is a plus.
